A couple of days ago, a subscriber requested that I do a written ‘Let’s Play’ type of post, where I do a deep-dive into my gameplay. As I tend to be an easily distractible player (“Oh look, shiny!”), I thought I would make some rules surrounding this.
I will randomly pick one planet, without scanning, from a random system, in whichever galaxy I’m currently in.
I will spend only one hour scanning flora, fauna, and minerals.
I will try to vary the type of screenshots I capture: if there’s water on a planet, I’ll dive in; if there are cave systems…you get my drift.
Any bases that I come across will be featured.
Let’s jump in.
Planet Details
Planet Name: Hazeley (a Supercritical Planet)
Planet Biome: Irradiated
System Name: Roishim
Region: Siveinj
Galaxy: Euclid
Discovered By: Generally, I will credit who initially discovered the system and planet. Unfortunately, Discovery Services have been hit or miss, and I was not connected.
As soon as I entered the system, I was met with a freighter battle. The pirates were quickly defeated, and I sulked as I walked away from the endangered freighter. Alas, only a C class.
There are only two planets to choose from in this system, and as the…err…tentacles of my ship were pointed toward the bright green planet, I made my way toward it.
As soon as I hit the hazy, yellow atmosphere, I knew I had happened upon an irradiated planet. Let me tell you a secret: you can keep your lush, boring planets; I live for the ones where every step takes you that much closer to death (also helps that my hazard protection is fully upgraded).
I’m quite partial to the radioactive planets - they’re dense with flora and fauna, the color palettes are wild, and the fauna seems the most alien.
I quickly set off, on foot, not mindful of my direction. The terrain was quite mountainous, and I touched down in the midst of an archipelago. If I wasn’t hitting water, I was climbing the side of a mountain.
I quickly scanned all of the animals that I came across, and dove into my first lake. I was able to pick up a Hadal Core immediately, a handful of pearls, some crystal sulphide, and scanned both underwater animals.
By the time I had resurfaced, day was quickly turning to night.
I actually flew through the night, looking for a building. I thought at first that I had come across a planet without any life at all. It was then that I saw an Archive looming ahead.
Luckily, I had a couple of artifacts I needed to turn in. And yes, I know that you don’t always get another artifact in exchange of equal or greater value. Just let me play my game. 😂
I picked up a map on my stop, and located an ancient ruin about 6 hours east of where I was.
I dug up the treasure (Historical Document: Lewd Poetry), and made my way towards an abandoned building that I noticed flying to the ruin. This building ended up only giving me nanites when I interacted with the terminal, and I gave a wide berth to those whispering eggs.
I only found one cave in the hour that I spent traversing this planet, and it was tiny. The real kicker is, the last animal that I needed to scan to finish out the creatures was a cave-dweller. Go figure. I did pick up a couple of Albumen Pearls though.
I was able to get quite a few of the animals, plants, and minerals scanned; although none of them were completed within the hour.
Lately, I’ve spent a lot of my in-game time looking for something in particular, and less time just wandering a planet aimlessly. It was nice to just enjoy the scenery, without worrying about the next objective.
Do you have a favorite biome to explore?

This is a very cool idea. I like it! Very nice!
